Abstract
1527261 Resilient devices, e.g. spring wheels DUNLOP Ltd 31 Dec 1975 [11 Jan 1975 23 May 1975] 1231/75 and 22521/75 Heading B7C A resilient device, e.g. a wheel, comprises a radially inner hub 16, 20, a deformable annular outer rim 12, 22, resilient spokes 15, 21, and a plurality of bodies 18, 23 of a resiliently deformable but substantially incompressible material, each body being positioned between, and united with surfaces of, a respective pair of spokes and not filling the space therebetween so that there is a free space between the spokes which extends throughout the axial width of the device. In Fig. 1, the hub and spokes are of plastics while the rim and integral bodies are of natural or synthetic rubber. Alternatively the spokes may not be integral with the hub and they may be of metal. The rim may be of plastics or metal surrounded by a solid or pneumatic tyre, with such a rim the rubber bodies 18 will be bonded to the spokes and rim. In the embodiment of Fig. 2, the bodies 23 are cylindrical defining free spaces 24 and the spokes 21 are integral with the hub and rim.
