Abstract

1527241 Collapsible skis B J WHEELER 12 April 1976 [7 March 1975] 9686/75 Heading A6D A collapsible ski includes a rear ski portion 18, formed with a spigot 19 permanently secured within one end of a sleeve 23, and a front ski portion 17, formed with a spigot 20 releasably fastenable within the other end of sleeve 23 by a bolt 30 engageable with a reinforced opening 32. The ski may be of wood, aluminium or resin-bonded glassfibre. The sleeve 23 may be of resin-bonded glass fibre or stainless steel. Instead of being flat, as shown, the abutting edges of the ski portions may be complementarily shaped, e.g. V-shaped. The sleeve 23 mounts a toe clamp 12, a heel clamp (not shown) being carried by the rear ski portion.
