1526627 Impact resistant styrene polymers MONSANTO CO 16 March 1977 11021/77 Heading C3P and C3M Impact resistant polymers comprise the polymerization product of (A) 13-97 parts monoalkenyl aromatic monomer, (B) 0-98 parts monoalkenyl nitrile monomer, (C) 2-36 parts of diene rubber and (D) 0À2-20 parts liquid polymer of a conjugated diene, the parts totalling 100, prepared by polymerizing (A) and (B) in the presence of (C) and well-blending the product with (D), or by polymerizing a mixture of all four components. Examples describe the polymerization of styrene in the presence of polybutadiene rubber and liquid polybutadiene, and the blending of liquid polybutadiene with graft polymers of styrene on polybutadiene rubber and with graft copolymers of styrene and acrylonitrile on polybutadiene and butadiene/acrylonitrile rubbers.
