Abstract

p-Isocamphylphenol, or an isomeric mixture containing p-isocamphylphenol, is isomerised with anhydrous hydrogen fluoride to give an isomeric mixture containing m-isocamphylphenol. The resulting mixture can be converted by hydrogenation into an isomeric mixture containing 3-isocamphylcyclohexanol.
