Abstract

1526049 Jacking devices K G JAMES 30 Oct 1975 [24 Dec 1974] 55794/74 Heading B8J A load raising device 1 comprises a pair of uprights 4 each mounted on a load bearing foot 5 and carrying between them a support beam 6 which is movable longitudinally of the uprights 4, fixing points 13 on the uprights 4 whereby the beam 6 may be held at a required position, and jack receiving points, shown as plates 9 on collars 8 and the underneath of the beam 6, between which a jack 12 may be positioned and operated to cause the beam 6 to be raised relative to the two uprights 4. The collars 8 slide on the uprights 4 and may be held at required positions by the fixing points 13. Fig. 1, (not shown), illustrates the use of two such devices 1, each with a full support on the beam 6, to lift a boat to enable it to be placed on a trailer. In this application the two devices 1 are interlinked by chains (3). The feet 5 may each incorporate a wheel (26), Fig. 6 (not shown), or a swivel mounting.
