Abstract

1524731 Determination of uric acid WELLCOME FOUNDATION Ltd (Deutsche Wellcome GmbH) 14 Jan 1977 [15 Jan 1976] 01557/76 Heading G1B The concentration of uric acid in fluids free of red blood cells, buffered to alkaline pH, is determined by dividing a sample of test fluid into two portions (a blank and a test portion), admixing the blank portion with sufficient uricase to convert all the uric acid therein to allantoin, admixing each portion with an excess of 2,6-dichloroquinonechlorimide solution, allowing the portions to incubate at room temperature, determining the difference in extinction of the two portions at a suitable wavelength and calculating the concentration of uric acid therefrom.
