Abstract

1524525 Temperature control BRITISH GAS CORP 16 Feb 1976 [2 Dec 1974] 51979/74 Heading G3R [Also in Division F4] A device for suppressing the plume formation from an exhaust of a gas appliance leaving a flue 1 comprises a heating means 2 controlled by a valve 4 that is electrically connected to a proportional controller 5. A computing module 6 is fed with signals corresponding to ambient air temperature, a fixed CO 2 level, and relative humidity of the ambient air near the flue exit, from which a desired flue temperature to prevent plume formation is computed and an electrical signal generated accordingly. This signal is fed to the controller 5 and is compared with the actual flue temperature electrical signal from a sensor in the flue. The controller 5 then operates the valve 4 according to whether additional heat is required to raise the flue temperature to the desired level.
