1524319 Polypeptides IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 27 May 1977 [21 June 1976 28 Oct 1976] 25643/76 and 44840/76 Heading C3H A polypeptide of the Formula (I) H-Tyr-AGly-Phe-B-P-E wherein A is D-Ala, D-Ser, D-Met or Gly; B is Leu or Met; E is OH, NH2 or O(C1-C6 alkyl); P is a peptide residue selected from Lys-Lys, Asn-Ala-Y-Lys-Lys, Thr- Leu - Phe - Lys - Asn - Ala - Ile - X - Lys - Asn- Ala - Y - Lys - Lys, Ala - Ile - X - Lys - Asn- Ala - Y - Lys - Lys, Ser - Gln - Thr - Pro - Leu- Val - Thr - Leu - Phe - Lys - Asn - Ala - Ile - X - Lys - Asn - Ala - Y - Lys - Lys, wherein X is Val or Ile, Y is Tyr or His; and the pharmaceutically-acceptable acid addition salts thereof, and, if the polypeptide of Formula (I) contains a carboxy group, the pharmaceutically-acceptable base addition salts thereof. Polypeptides (I) prepared in the examples are: H - Tyr - D - Ala - Gly - Phe - Leu - Lys - Lys- OH; H - Tyr - D - Ala - Gly-Phe Leu - Asn- Ala - Tyr - Lys - Lys - OH; H - Tyr - D - Ala- Gly - Phe - Leu - Ala - Ile - Ile - Lys - Asn - Ala- Tyr - Lys - Lys OH; H - Tyr - D - Ala - Gly- Phe - Leu - Thr - Leu - Phe - Lys - Asn - Ala- Ile-Ile-Ly-Asn-Aly-Tyr-Ls-Lys-OH; Peptide intermediates, prepared by solid phase synthesis, isolated are: PENTACOSAPEPTIDE: Boc - Tyr(But) D - Ala - Gly - Phe - Leu - Ser(Bzl) - Gln - Thr(Bzl)- Pro - Leu - Val - Thr(Bzl) Leu - Phe - Lys- (2,4 - DiClZ) - Asn Ala - Ile - Ile - Lys(2,4 - DiClZ) - Asn Ala - Tyr(mBrBzl) - Lys(2,4 - DiClZ)-Lys(2,4-DiClZ)-polystyrene resin. NONADECAPEPTIDE: Boc - Tyr(But) D - Ala - Gly - Phe Leu - Thr(Bzl) - Leu - Phe - Lys- (2,4 - - DiClZ) - Asn - Ala - Ile - Ile - Lys(2,4 - DiClZ) - Asn Ala - Tyr(mBrBzl) - Lys(2,4 DiClZ)-Lys(2,4 - DiClZ)-polystyrene resin. TETRADECAPEPTIDE: Boc - Tyr(But) - D - Ala - Gly - Phe - Leu Ala - Ile - Ile - Lys(2,4- DiClZ) - Asn - Ala - Tyr(mBrBzl) - Lys(2,4 - DiClZ) - Lys(2,4 - DiClz) - polystyrene resin. DECAPEPTIDE: Boc Byr(But) D - Ala- Gly - Phe Leu - Asn - Ala - Tyr(mBrBzl) Lys- (2,4 - DiClZ) - Lys(2,4 - DiClZ) - polystyrene resin. HEPTAPEPTIDE: Boc - Tyr(But) - D - Ala- Gly - Phe - Leu - Lys(2,4 - DiClZ) - Lys(2,4- DiClZ)-polystyrene resin. Pharmaceutical compositions, which may be in a form of parenteral administration, comprise polypeptide (I) in association with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
