Abstract

152,378. Harrison, F. May 10, 1919. Repairing. - In renewing a lamp, a tungsten filament G which has been wound on a mandrel of diameter not greater than ten times and preferably about four times that of the filament and stretched to a suitable length is inserted through an aperture B at the pip end, secured by spring clips F to the leading-in wires, and wound over one or more of the existing supports H. An exhaust tube is then sealed over the aperture. By using a suitable length of wire the lamp may be adapted for a higher voltage than that for which originally intended.
