Abstract

1520747 Pile fabrics OZITE CORP 11 July 1975 [5 Aug 1974] 29318/75 Heading D1K A pile fabric is made by applying a layer of staple fibres 6 to the undersurface of a woven scrim 1, needling the fibres into the scrim to provide a backing layer 8 and a layer of fibres 9 on the pile surface side of the scrim, tufting loops 11 through the needled base fabric so that the back stitches 12 are at least partially surrounded by the fibres of the backing layer 8, dyeing the whole fabric, applying a latex or other backing material 15 on the undersurface of the fabric and drying the fabric.
