Abstract
1520712 Treating exhaust gases MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 6 Jan 1977 00403/75 Heading CIA The NO 4 content of O 2 -containing combustion exhaust gas is non-catalytically reduced by: (a) treating the gas with NH 3 in a mole ratio NH 3 :NO 4 of at least 0À6:1 in presence of O 2 in an amount at least 0À1 vol per cent of total gas mixture and in the absence of the H 2 or with less than 10:1 mole ratio of H 2 :NH 3 at 700-1300‹ C. and a residence time of at least 0À018 secs.; (b) raising the H 2 content to a mole ratio H 2 :NH 3 of at least 3:1 and maintaining the gas mixture at a temperature lower than in (a) in the range 490-700‹ C. while maintaining the O 2 content of at least 0À1 vol per cent.
