Abstract

1519075 Froth flotation apparatus NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP 23 Feb 1977 [2 March 1976] 08313/76 Addition to 1469292 Heading B2H In an apparatus of the kind described in the Parent Specification, the receptacle 1 is divided into compartments by at least four substantially parallel, upright partition walls 2 extending downwardly to a level above the bottom of the lowermost flotation cell, a froth generator, e.g. an impeller 12, being provided within the lowermost cell under each partition wall. Drive shafts 11 for the impellers pass vertically or at an angle within the thickness of the partition walls 2 which may be hollow or which may be solid and fitted with sleeves for the passage of the shafts. The impellers 12 are separated from each other by vertical baffles 14 to avoid wasteful mass circulation of material, each baffle carrying a horizontal shelf on each side to protect the upper regions of the apparatus from the turbulence generated by the impellers.
