Abstract
1519029 Measuring impedance VOGEL & HALKE 30 Oct 1975 [13 Nov 1974] 45016/75 Heading G1U A measuring bridge 1 has a supply 4, 5 derived from a sine-wave generator 26, one lead 4 receiving a phase inverted voltage. The bridge output 6, 7 passes via two A.C. amplifiers 10, 11, a phasesensitive rectifier 15 and filter 16 to a stage 19 which provides an output 20 for a display. A sensor 43 provides a temperature responsive signal 44 to an amplitude control 46 which adjusts the sine-wave supply 26 amplitude, and to the output stage 19. The amplitude control ensures that the bridge output sensitivity is independent of temperature, and the zero-setting of the output 20 is similarly compensated at stage 19. A potentiometer 50 across the supply 4, 5 to the bridge provides a zerosetting voltage to the second A.C. amplifier 11 to adjust for any initial output from the bridge which may be force transducer in a scale balance. The amplifier 11 also has an integrating feedback 37 to remove any D.C. components in the output voltage.
