Abstract
1518194 Pneumatic actuator SOCIMI SOC COSTRUZIONI INDUSTRIALI MILANO SpA 10 Oct 1975 [7 May 1975] 41655/75 Heading F1D A pneumatic actuator, especially suitable for driving sliding doors and the like, comprises a piston 6, slideable within a cylinder 1 and having piston rings 7, a hollow rod 5 attached to the piston 6, a plunger 14 slideable within the rod 5 and acted on by a spring 13, an end closure 2 having ducts 9 and 10 communicating with a cavity 8, said ducts 9, 10 having adjustable throttling members (11), (12), Fig. 3 (not shown), a sleeve 3 having ducts 27, 28 communicating with a cavity 26, said ducts 27, 28 having adjustable throttling members (29), (30), Fig. 2 (not shown) a flanged body 21 acted on by a spring 23 and having bores 22 and a gasket 25, a ring 24, and a washer 19 which can be displaced along the rod 5 and is attached to a spring 18 which is fastened to a cup 17 which is secured to the rod 5. When compressed air is indroduced into the cylinder through cavity 8 and duct 10', the piston and rod 5 move to the left in (Fig. 1) a shoulder 16 abutting a shoulder 15 to withdraw the righthand end of the plunger 14 from duct 9 and compress the spring 13. As the piston approaches the left hand end of the cylinder, the washer 19 engages the flanged body 21, springs 18 and 23 are compressed and the gasket 25 abuts the wall 20 to prevent air passing from the cylinder to the duct 27. The air-flow from the cylinder through duct 28 can be controlled by adjusting the throttling member (30). When the piston is moved to the right by introducing compressed air to cavity 26, the spring- loaded plunger 14 closes the port 9 and the airflow from the cylinder through duct 10 may be controlled by adjustment of the throttling member (12).
