Abstract

The single-use injection syringe comprises a liquid container (11) having a needle cap (14) for attachment of an injection needle (12). The container (11) holds the substance to be injected between a piston and a tearable sealing member (72), and the needle cap (14) houses a space (78) in which the sealing member (72) can expand and be torn. The space inside the needle cap (14) is dimensioned so that the piston can move past the torn sealing member (72) essentially over the entire path up to the end of the space (78) after tearing of the sealing member (72). Due to this design it is possible for the piston to eject virtually the complete amount of liquid present in the liquid container (11). <IMAGE>
