Abstract

1516838 Mounting vehicle lamps LUCAS ELECTRICAL Ltd 3 Sept 1975 [21 Sept 1974] 41219/74 Heading F4R A headlamp assembly comprises a light unit 10, a support member 11 adapted to be mounted on the vehicle, and means adjustably mounting the unit on the member, the means including an adjusting screw 13 engaging a nut 14 fixed to the member, a bush 15 slidable longitudinally on the screw, a manually operable cam 18 pivoted on the bush about an axis 16 perpendicular to the screw, and a cam follower 20 secured to the unit and biased by a spring 21 into engagement with the cam. The cam has a plurality of flat, mutually inclined surface portions which lie at different distances from the axis 16 so that when it is rotated, either by a lever 17 or through a Bowden cable by a knob in the driving compartment, it tilts the unit in a vertical plane.
