Abstract
1516200 Transistor ramp voltage generating circuits TEKTRONIX Inc 27 Aug 1975 [7 Oct 1974] 35326/75 Heading H3T In a ramp generator, a capacitor 50 is charged from a constant current source 52 and subsequently discharged into a constant current sink 66 under control of a gating circuit (e.g. in the form of an emitter coupled pair of transmitters 62, 64). The voltage at the foot of the ramp is stabilized by a feedback circuit which compares the voltage with a reference Vref by means of an amplifier 58 which produces an error current which is fed to the capacitor 50. As described, initially, transistor 62 is turned off so that transistor 64 directs the charging current IT into the sink 66, the quiescent voltage across capacitor 50 being stabilized by feedback circuit including amplifiers 56 and 58 which compares the voltage with Vref. In order to generate a ramp, transistor 62 is turned on so as to turn off 64 and divert the constant current 52 into the capacitor 50. Diode 68 prevents saturation of transistor 62.
