1516187 Endless filter belt and drum F W HING and F W CHEW 31 Aug 1976 [16 Oct 1975] 42369/75 Heading B1D A continuous filter apparatus comprises a drum 1, rotatable about its axis, two guide rollers 8 and 9 adjacent to and externally of the drum and parallel to its axis 2, idler roller 10, an endless filter band 7 which extends around the idler roller and is guided by means of said guide rollers around the drum, means for rotating the drum and means 13, 15, 16 for cleaning the filter band situated immediately between the idler roller and guide roller 8. The fluid may be fed into drum 1 which is perforated and has a soft roller 5 obstructing the perforation between the guide rollers 8 and 9 or fluid may be fed onto the belt between the idler roller and a guide roller wherein the drum is not necessarily perforated. A pulley 11 may be provided at each side of the filter band, each carrying a belt which grips the edge of the band onto the drum 1 to prevent leakage; the belts may run in grooves on drum 1. Rollers 8 and 9 may be grooved as illustrated. A scraper may contact the drum between rollers 8 and 9.
