Abstract

1515574 Measuring voltage LICENTIA PATENT VERWALTUNGS GmbH 3 Sept 1975 [10 Sept 1974] 36303/75 Heading G1U In a voltage monitoring circuit the input voltage, e.g. that developed across a load driven by a vehicle battery, is applied to a first operational amplifier AR1 of fixed gain, and thence to the further operational amplifiers AR2, AR3 which receive as reference inputs voltages derived from the supply rail via dividers R4, R5 and R6, R7 respectively setting upper and lower tolerance levels. The outputs from the amplifiers AR2, AR3 switch transistors Q2 (directly) and Q3 (via a further transistor Q1) so that an indicator lamp DS1 only lights when the input level is within the tolerance band and both transistors are on. A resistor R8 is connected in series with the lamp DS1 and in parallel with the switching transistors so that the lamp filament is pre-warmed (without glowing) when the transistors Q2, Q3 are off to reduce the turn-on current.
