Abstract

1515418 Hinges RICHARD HEINZE 19 Dec 1975 [21 Dec 1974] 52190/75 Heading E2F In a hinge comprising a securing member 13 for insertion into a recess in one member 14 to be hinged, a connecting block 10 for attachment to the securing member and having a slotted hinge part 11 receiving hinge parts 8 of a hinge arm 3 adapted to be secured to the other member 1 to be hinged, the connecting block is part cylindrical and is adapted to be received in a second recess 15 in an end face of the one member, the cylindrical part being bounded by two parallel chords 18, 19 of unequal length. In use the chords correspond with the edges of the recess 15 on the inner and outer faces of the member 14. As shown the member 13 provides a socket for part of the member 10. The member 10 may however be flat and the securing member is a flat sided peg 30, as shown in Fig. 4. The arm 3 is adjustable secured to a plate 2 mounted on the member 1. The arm may be cranked as shown, or straight and the member 10 may have a stepped end face (Fig. 3, not shown) for use with overlying, insert and stepped edge doors.
