Abstract
1515035 Automatic control ESTEY CORP 14 May 1976 20070/76 Heading G3N [Also in Division B8] Bookcases 10-13, or other storage units, are mounted on wheels 14 moving on a track 15. Pillars 20, 21 support a cross-beam 18 on which are mounted lamps 16 in reflectors 17 and from which hangs down power leads 59 for the bookcases. Each bookcase is provided with a pair of proximity devices 27 each comprising a pushswitch or a reed relay co-operating with a magnet on an adjacent bookcase or pillar, and a switchboard 23 on which is mounted an aisle switch 47, off switch 48 and indicator lights. The lefthand bookcase incorporates an additional switchboard 22 bearing an aisle switch 24 and off switch 25. Each bookcase is provided with wrist and foot-level safety bars. Relay-type control circuits on the bookcases are inter-connected through cables 56 and in response to the selective actuation of proximity devices 27 open up an aisle adjacent to an actuated aisle switch.
