Abstract

1514426 Anti-skid vehicle brakes FIAT SpA 12 March 1976 [26 March 1975] 10037/76 Heading F2F Sensors 64, 66 on the wheels of one axle act, through a control 72 and brake pressure modulator valves 60, 62, to prevent skidding of both front and rear wheels. The hydraulic or pneumatic pressure from reservoirs 18, 20, is controlled primarily by a brake pedal 40, and the pressure thus obtaining in lines 44 and 48 is modified by the modulator valves 60, 62. The pressure to the rear brakes is also modulated by a load-sensitive pressure-reducing valve 50, between the operator's control 38 and the modulator 62. The sensors may be on the front or rear wheels. The control lines 74, 76 may connect both modulator valves 60, 62 directly to the control 72, or (Fig. 3, not shown), the control line 76 is omitted and the modulator valve 62 is controlled by a fluid control pipe running from the modulator valve 60.
