1513371 Humidity detectors P ROCKLIFF 7 Aug 1975 [11 May 1974] 20944/74 Heading G1N A sensor or detector element of the capacitance type for use in an electrical hygrometer comprises a substrate or base, e.g. of glass or ceramic material on which is formed three layers, a first and third layer constituting metal electrodes, e.g. of gold and interposed therebetween a two film layer, one film of the layer being non-hygroscopic e.g. of silicon monoxide and protecting the first layer from the second film which is of hygroscopic material e.g. calcium fluoride. The third layer is capable of permitting free passage of water molecules.
