1513295 Quench-hardening apparatus LUDWIG-OFAG-INDUGAS-INDUSTRIEOFENANLAGEN GmbH 29 July 1975 [20 Aug 1974] 31611/75 Heading C7N Quench-hardening apparatus comprises a tank 4 for liquid quenching medium 3, an arrangement 5 on one side of the tank for supporting and locating. a framework 1 which holds articles 2 to be quenched, and a circulation mechanism 6 on the other side of the tank for circulating medium 3, there being attached to mechanism 6 a bundle 7 of tubes 8 of equal length and adapted to receive medium 3 from mechanism 6 and to discharge it beneath framework 1. Tubes 8 may be metal or plastics; their net cross-section may correspond to the base area of framework 1, so that the cross-section of the current of quenching medium equals that of said framework. The inlets and outlets of the tubes may all be coplanar; the tubes may have valves or throttles, and quenching of gear rings and brake discs is referred to.
