1513272 Diphenylether derivatives SANDOZ Ltd 17 Sept 1975 [19 Sept 1974] 38176/75 Heading C2C [Also in Division C3] 4 - Chloroacetyldiphenylether is prepared from diphenyl ether and chloroacetyl chloride by the Friedels-Craft reaction. 4 - Trichloroacetylphenyl - 41 - iodophenyl ether is prepared by the reaction of 4-trichloroacetyldiphenyl ether and iodine in the presence of HIO 3 and cone. H 2 SO 4 . Similarly: 4 - dichloroacetylphenyl - 4<SP>1</SP>- iodophenyl ether is prepared.
