Abstract
1512879 Mounting of paired nozzles for coating closed loop SONY CORP 3 June 1976 [6 June 1975] 23004/76 Heading B2L Apparatus for coating a loop comprises at least one pair of nozzles for dispensing coating material and means for moving individual nozzles of the or each pair from a common starting point in opposite directions to a terminal point common to 2 oppositely moving nozzles, whereby the whole loop may be coated. Apparatus for applying frit slurry to the funnel of a TV tube comprises two applicator nozzles 13, 14; these start at a common point as shown. Motor 35 drives shaft 41 threaded in opposite directions at its two ends and co-operating with threads through plates 36a, 36b, so that the plates move laterally oppositely along bars 40 fixedly mounted to plate 44. Plate 44 is caused by motor 34 to move to and fro longitudinally along bars 48, and automatic control means for the two motors ensures that nozzles 13, 14 move oppositely from the start point along the rim of the funnel, via 1d, If and le, 1g respectively, to a common terminal point. Two pairs of nozzles may be provided, the other pair starting opposite 13, 14 and in this case each nozzle traverses a quarter of the loop
