Abstract

1512746 Push-button tuning mechanism AUTOVOX SpA 12 Oct 1976 42305/76 Heading H3Q In a keyboard operated tuner each key 47 is guided on a frame 1 for movement at right-angles to a tuning slider 13 so that when a key is pressed an adjustable cam 42 on that key engages one end of an associated pivoted elbow lever 8 the other end of which coacts with one of slots 7 in the tuning slider 13 to move it to the preselected postion determined by the cam 42. To preset a tuning position a manual tuning knob 26 is pressed which moves arm 23 and 24 and a link 14 so as to release engagement of a roller 15 with a cam 54 of a pressed key and allow that key to be biased outwardly by a spring 39 into the rest position. The tuning slider is now set to the required position by rotating the knob 26 which drives a crank 12 and a pin 11 via a clutch. The key 47 to be preset is pulled outwardly so as to release a clamping lever (44, Fig. 3, not shown) so that the cam 42 in the form of a spring biased piston is released. Now the key is pressed in and piston 42 engages its associated elbow lever 8 and is preset in position and on further pressing in of the key the clamping lever (44) locks the piston 42. When the key is again pressed a platelet (51, Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) moves a slider 28 to unlock the clutch of the manual tuning mechanism and piston 42 drives the elbow lever 8 and tuning slider 13 to the preset position of piston 42.
