Abstract
1512553 Photocurable orthopaedic bandages and splints MITSUBISHI PETROCHEMICAL CO Ltd 6 Oct 1975 40843/75 Heading C3P A storage-stable, flexible, photocurable material for use as an orthopaedic bandage or splint comprises a flexible fabric impregnated with a photo-sensitiser and 25-50% by weight (based on fabric and tacky composition) of a photocurable tacky composition obtained by (i) reacting a hydroxyalkyl acrylate or methacrylate with certain aliphatic or aromatic diisocyanates and (ii) reacting the product containing free isocyanate groups with certain dihydric or trihydric alcohols to form a product containing 2 polymerizable double bonds in the molecule. In use, the flexible material is applied to a body member and exposed to a light source such as an ultraviolet or sunlight lamp.
