Abstract

1511962 Dispensing articles T WERESCH 17 May 1976 [28 May 1975 14 April 1976] 20217/76 Heading B8U Electrical components such as resistors or diodes, which have a pair of connecting wires extending outwardly therefrom, one fed to a processing machine (not shown) by means of the apparatus shown which comprises a hopper 8 which receives the components from a stile 3 of a vibratory container 1, the walls 10, 11 of the hopper 8 defining a zig-zag path, Fig. 2, along which the components pass in single file to a guide arrangement which comprises two parallel slot guides 334 (only one of which is shown in Fig. 4), each of which receives one of the connecting wires of each component, each slot guide 334 being defined by two plates 332, and at the exit area 336 of each slot guide 334 there is located a respective peripherallynotched transport disc 35 mounted on a common shaft 324 for simultaneous rotation, a blocking slide 37 being located adjacent to the exit area 336 of each slot guide 334 for controlling the passage of each component to the discs 35, each notch 36 of each disc 35 receiving one of the wires of a component. The shaft 324 is rotated from the processing machine to cause each pair of aligned notches 36 of the discs 35 to pass the exit areas 336 to receive a component therefrom, the rotation of the shaft 324 controlling the operation of the blocking slides 37 in that a cam disc (39) mounted on the shaft 324 is engaged by a roller (401) mounted at the end of a tilting lever (40), Fig. 5 (not shown), the lever (40) being mounted on a shaft 324<SP>1</SP> for rotation and having an impact bar 400 mounted thereon which engages the ends of the blocking slides 37 to move the latter into their blocking positions relative to the slot guides 334, and when the impact bar 400 is released from the said ends of the blocking slides 37 a respective spring 372 causes movement of each slide 37 to a non-blocking position in which a component is allowed to be engaged by the transport discs 35. The rear ones of the plates 332 are formed with guide rails 337 which function to prevent components from following away from the discs 35 until they are discharged to the processing machine.
