Abstract

1511308 Laminating steel to rubber by adhesive DURHAM CHEMICALS Ltd 24 June 1975 [15 July 1974] 26679/75 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] Grit-blasted steel which is unprimed or primed with a chlorinated elastomer primer is, in examples, coated with an adhesive composition comprising a polybutadiene diol chain extended with methylene bis (4 phenyl isoyanate) gamma amino propyl triethoxy silane and toluene and to the coated steel is applied an unvulcanized elastomer stock based on natural rubber, EPDM rubber, ethylene-propylene rubber, ethylene-vinyl acetate rubber, propylene oxide-allyl glycidyl ether elastomer, or epichlorohydrin elastomer which stock is vulcanized in situ. Non-chain-extended diene polymers may alternatively be used in the adhesive composition.
