Abstract

1511271 Making shell moulds NISSAN CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 24 April 1975 [30 April 1974 4 Feb 1975] 17119/75 Heading B5A A mould is made by coating a pattern with a refractory material wherein a mould pattern is alternately or simultaneously coated repeatedly with a stable liquid A which comprises a metallic oxide sol containing at least 5% by weight of metallic oxide (including silica and aluminium hydrogen phosphate as oxides) in water and/or a hydrophilic organic solvent and at least 0À1% by weight of a resinous polymer, in solution, emulsion or fine dispersion; stable liquid B which is a gelling agent for the components of liquid A and a refractory material in either liquid A or liquid B. Numerous examples of liquids A and B are given.
