Abstract
1510082 Separating glyceride oils and fats ASAHI DENKA KOGYO KK 9 April 1976 [14 April 1975 19 May 1975] 14477/76 Heading C5C A process for separating trisaturated glyceride components from glyceride oils and fats comprises adding 0À05-0À7 part by wt. of solvent, preferably acetone, to I part by wt. of the oil or fat to form a miscellar mixture, cooling the mixture at 0À03-0À09‹C./min. to crystallize 80-98 wt. per cent of the trisaturated glyceride components and adding to the mixture solvent, again preferably acetone, in an amount which is 0À5 to 4 times the weight of that used in the first addition and cooling the resultant mixture to crystallize the remaining trisaturated glyceride components and separating them from the miscellar mixture. The exemplified oils and fats are palm oil, lard, hydrogenated rape seed oil and hydrogenated soya bean oil.
