Abstract

1509909 Monomooring terminals DAVID BROWN-VOSPER (OFFSHORE) Ltd 12 Sent 1975 [8 Nov 1974] 48540/74 Heading E1H [Also in Division B8] A buoyant structure I held below sea level by chains 2 extending to an anchor block 3 has a fixed drum 11 with a rotatable top ring 13 into or onto which a pipe bundle 7 can be coiled or uncoiled. A ship is moored to the structure by a cable 9 for the transfer of liquid cargo to and from it. The top ring 13 has a reversible hydraulic motor 17 which drives the bundle 7 longitudinally while the ring 13 is rotated by a similar motor 14 on the structure. By actuating the motors 14, 17 together in the appropriate directions the bundle can be uncoiled from within the drum 11 for connection to a moored ship or on reverals can coil in a disconnected bundle. The bundle extends down through an aperture 21 and includes a power line 23 from a power pack 22 which line is connected to the motors 14, 17.
