1509817 Compositions containing 1, 3-dithia compounds NIHON NOHYAKU CO Ltd 4 June 1976 [6 June 1975] 23178/76 Heading A5B [Also in Division C2] A pharmaceutical composition for controlling liver disease comprises an effective amount of a 1, 3-dithia compound of the general formula: wherein R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>3</SP>, which may be the same or different, represent individually a C 1 -C 4 alkyl group, and R<SP>3</SP> represents H, an acetyl group or a propionyl group and a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent. The compositions may be used orally, parenterally or in the form of a suppository.
