Abstract

150,967. Debeaurain, L. Sept. 10, 1919, [Convention date]. Corkscrews.-The corkscrew 1 is fixed to a cross-head 2 which is connected by links 3 to levers 4 pivoted to lugs 7 on a socket 8, adapted to rest on the bottle mouth. Levers 10 are pivoted to the ends of the levers 4, and are pivoted together centrally. The levers 10 carry lateral handles 11, and one of them is extended as shown at 12 to form a shield. In use, the levers 4 and 10 are closed together, and the corkscrew is screwed into the cork until the socket 8 rests on the bottle mouth. A pull on the handles 11 extends the levers as shown and draws the cork.
