Abstract

1509148 Electric resistance heating M STEINMETZ 16 June 1976 24857/76 Heading H5H An electrical resistance heating element having a conducting filament 2 arranged in at least eight parallel strands per 60 cm width of ceramic body 1 in which it is embedded, has a mounting member 4 integral with the ceramic body 1 and on a rear surface thereof which is reduced in cross sectional area 7 adjacent the rear surface to reduce heat conduction through the member 4 thereby improving uniformity of heat radiation from the opposite, front surface. An additional recess 6 is for mounting a reflector. The mounting member may be a bridge (Fig. 3 not shown). Ribs 2 and curved shape of the element are optional.
