Abstract

1507574 Synchronous electric motors SOC INDUSTRIELLE DE SONCEBOZ SA 29 April 1976 [6 May 1975] 17535/76 Heading H2A A synchronous electric motor incorporates a current-limiting resistor which is connected in series with the stator winding and comprises a resistive layer 8 deposited on an insulating support 7 placed within the winding space. The support may be in the form of a washer, as shown, or may be flexible for bending into a ring surrounding the winding, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown); alternatively, the resistive layer may be deposited directly on to an end surface of the former (26) for the stator winding, Fig. 5 (not shown). Three metallic terminal zones 13, 14, 15 are also provided to permit the necessary interconnections. The resistive layer may be of carbon and the terminal zones of deposited silver, or of copper cemented to the support.
