1507164 Purification of I.C. exhaust ENGELHARD MINERALS & CHEMICALS CORP 23 May 1975 [10 June 1974] 22740/75 Addition to 1484933 Heading B1F Apparatus for purifying gases, e.g. for catalytic conversion of I.C. exhausts. comprises a ceramic honeycomb structure 28, a flange 44 bridging the gap between casing 22 and structure 28, and at least one expansible ceramic fibre member 48a, 48b positioned under compression to provide resilient connection between flange 44 and structure 28. Member 48a, 48b may be formed of alumina silica fibre, and portion 48b may be more resilient than member 48a.
