Abstract

1506394 Variable resistors WELWYN ELECTRIC Ltd 23 May 1975 [7 Aug 1974] 34771/74 Heading H1S A combined variable resistor and switch assembly comprises three arcuate resistive elements 2, 3, 4 on a substrate 1, which are engaged by wipers mounted on respective discs 18, 19, 20, and three rotary switches 43, 44, 45 on a housing wall 21, which are mounted coaxially with but are operable independently of the rotary resistors, so that each switch can be operated without disturbing the setting of its associated resistor. The resistors may be adjusted by means of either milled edges projecting from the housing or screwdriver slots in studs 27, 28, 29 which also constitute the axes for the switches. The assembly may be used in colour television receivers, each resistor/switch combination corresponding to a particular colour. The intensity of each colour can be set separately, the other two colours being switched off during setting.
