Abstract

150,567. Lucy, E. E. Nov. 19, 1919. Fire and smoke tube superheaters.-In superheaters for locomotion and other boilers of the kind in which the superheater elements are located in the fire-tubes, the header 8 is in the form of a rectangular chamber, divided by a vertical partition 9 into two chambers 10, 11 for saturated and superheated steam respectively. The tubes 18, 19 for saturated and superheated steam respectively are secured in collectors 12, divided by a vertical partition and formed with bifurcated ends 13, 14, for bolting independently to the underside of the header 8. The tubes 18, 19 are rendered accessible by removing plugs 21.
