Abstract

Screw-and-nut mechanism comprises half nuts a on opposite sides of the centre of a rockable plate b, which is mounted in a bearing at rightangles to and close to the screw c. The plate b is rocked to connect and disconnect the nut and screw. The invention is applicable to screwcutting lathes.
