Abstract

150,398. Morgan, T. May 28,1919. Sparking-plugs.-Relates to plugs of the type in which the sparking-plugs are enclosed in a chamber in the body part of the plug, the central conducting-bolt, the sparking-points, and the insulation being carried by a member which is removable in one piece from the body part of the plug. The invention consists in a special coinbination of parts in such a sparking-plug. The sparking- plug comprises a socket B carrying both electrodes and screwed to the body part A. The central stem C is secured in the socket B by means of two porcelain blocks E, D clamped against an internal flange 8 of the socket B between a flange 9 on the inner part of a central stem and a nut 11 screwed on the outer end of the stem. The block D is constructed with a large bottom cavity. The earthed electrode is formed of two points 7 projecting inwardly towards the central electrode from a ring 6 which is crimped into the mouth of the socket B.
