Abstract

1503648 Reciprocating pumps G B JENNINGS 23 April 1975 [25 April 1974] 18100/74 Heading F1A [Also in Division B1] A compressed air-operated pump for separately supplying resin and hardener to a gun 76 in which the resin and hardener are mixed with air to form a foam for injection into a wall cavity, comprises pumping cylinders 12 and 16 coaxial with an actuating cylinder 14 and pistons 36, 38, 40 on a common piston-rod 34 with abutments 54, 56 for reversing an air supply valve 48 at the end of each stroke. The liquid supply and delivery lines to the pumping cylinders may be as shown, or separate connections for supply and delivery may be provided at each end of each cylinder, Fig. 2 (not shown). The supply and delivery check-valves may be located in the cylinder end walls. The pumping pistons may be of different diameters to deliver the liquids in a required ratio. A pressure-relief valve 43 is provided in the air supply line 42. The cylinders and end-walls 24, 26, 28 and 30 are clamped together by tie bolts. Air from exhaust valves on air lines 44 and 46 may be used for mixing the resin and water in reservoir 86.
