1503210 Container traffic; vehicle loading hoist A MENZL 18 June 1975 25904/75 Headings B8Q and B8E A vehicle 1 has a load surface 3 having longitudinal rails 2 on which run interconnected frameworks 6 upon which a loading frame 16 is movable to engage and lift a building module 26 or a container. The members 7, 8, 9 of the frameworks are pivotally connected at 10, 11, 12 and their shape can be altered by a knuckle 13. The leading end of the module 26 is positively secured to the frame 16 by elements 27 screwed into a sleeve 28 connected to the reinforcing iron 29 while a container can be secured by means 30, 31, 32. The frame 16 runs by wheels 17, 18 on the frameworks 6 while wheels 19 run on raisable extension guideways. To unload the module from the Fig. 1 position the knuckle 13 is contracted to tilt the module up off the surface 3 and a ram is operated to move the frameworks 6 to the Fig. 2 position in which the frame 16 can be lowered under the control of a ram or a brake. Loading may be by a reverse process or other means. Rams are also provided to orientate the module as it is lowered while bearing plates 33 support the rear of the vehicle which may additionally be counterweighted at the front. The rails 2 may be extended alongside the cab 37 to allow the frameworks 6 to move further forward. A container may be supported on legs in the raised Fig. 2 position.
