Abstract

1502586 Ticket barriers COMPAGNIE GENERALE D'AUTOMATISME SA 11 Oct 1976 [24 Oct 1975] 42161/76 Heading G4T A ticket reading terminal for controlling the passenger gate 13 of an automatic two-way ticket barrier has a single ticket-acceptor slot 14 disposed on a turret 12 which is rotatably mounted on a stand 16 to face in either of two directions. The turret 12 may be rotatable about a vertical axis through substantially 180 degrees and may be arranged by switch contacts operated by rotation of the block to control different gates according to the direction in which the ticket acceptor slot 14 is facing, to allow passage of a passenger through the gate 13 on presentation of a valid ticket to the ticket-acceptor slot. A row of ticket barriers may be arranged so that the ticket-acceptor slot is always to the same side of a passenger (the right hand side in Fig. 3) for each of the gates regardless of the direction A or B, of the passenger. The gates 13 may comprise tripod turnstiles 15. Stop means may be provided to restrain the movement of the turret 12 to 180 degrees. (For Figures see next column.)
