Abstract

Therapeutically utilisable benzofuran derivatives of the formula (I) or the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof are prepared by reducing a benzofuran derivative of the formula (VIII) as such or as salt and, where appropriate, subsequently forming the required acid addition salt. The meaning of the symbols is evident from Claim 1. Benzofuran derivatives of the formula (VIII) in which R<2> is a lower alkoxy group yield benzofuran derivatives of the formula (I) in which R<1> is hydrogen. <IMAGE>
