Strengthening and ornamental non-metallic strips, cords, and the like, fabrics with.-In upholstery, the usual ornamental cord at the seams of the cover E, Fig. 4, is replaced by a special strip of fabric A, shown in Fig. 1, which is folded round a filling C and forms a welt for stitching to the cover. The fabric has a longitudinal strip of ornamentation B consisting of thick threads which may be introduced during the weaving operation.
