Abstract

1500770 Printing cellulose materials HOECHST AG 29 Jan 1975 [30 Jan 1974] 3804/75 Heading D1B A process for printing material containing cellulosic fibres comprises printing the material with one or more printing pastes each containing an azoic coupling component or a derivative capable of coupling, and, without intermediate drying, subsequently overprinting it with one or more printing pastes each containing a diazo compound. Preferably 2-4 azoic coupling component printing pastes are applied; preferred coupling components are 2-hydroxy-3-naphthoic acid arylides which may be in the form of their 1-methylol compounds. The diazo component may be a fast-colour diazonium salt, or in the form of the amine or amine salt in which case an alkali metal nitrite is added to the azoic coupling component printing paste. Reactive dyes may also be used preferably in the diazo component printing paste. Polyester/cotton fibres may also be printed in which case a disperse dye may also be applied.
