Abstract

1500621 Latching arrangement for sliding doors VOLKSWAGENWERK AG 14 March 1975 [15 March 1974] 10637/75 Heading E2A A sliding door 1 (shown open) is provided with a handle 5 at its trailing edge connected (1) rigidly to a spring catch 11 which engages a lug 10 to prevent the door from closing and (ii) to a rotary catch (not shown) at the leading edge of the door, which engages a keeper pin 8 to hold the door closed. The spring catch is formed by bending a resilient metal strip and is fixed at its non latching end 12 in a casing 6 integral with the handle 5. The keeper pin may alternatively carry the lug.
