1500599 Fire retardancy KOPPERS CO INC 28 Nov 1975 49113/75 Heading DIP [Also in Division C3] Wood may be treated to render it fireretardant by impregnation with an aqueous solution comprising monomethylol dicyandiamide, melamine and an oxy-acid of phosphorus, the monomethylol dicyandiamide and melamine being in a molar ratio of 11.5:1 to 3:1 respectively, and curing the impregnated wood preferably by heating to a temperature of from 60 to 110‹C Phosphoric acid is the exemplified oxy-acid of phosphorus.
